Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

GreenZone Solutions, Inc. is a fast-growing woman-owned and SBA-certified 8(a) technology management consulting firm that delivers innovative, cutting-edge solutions to meet our federal clients’ needs through our Big Data, Business Intelligence, and Data Analytics services.  Currently GreenZone is seeking a results oriented Senior Business Intelligence Analyst who will provide project support, technical consulting, and business intelligence expertise to our client through the development of dashboards, solving technical issues, and providing Tableau user support.

Position details include:

  • Develop materials for and train client users to implement best practices in Tableau, including both Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server versions 10.0 and higher.
  • Work with client staff to develop requirements to create dashboards, visualizations and Tableau reports.
  • Create and deploy dashboards to Tableau server in accordance with client needs.
  • Field business-related questions through exploratory data analysis such as statistical or geospatial analysis, and develop ad-hoc reporting.
  • Identify, extract, and integrate relevant data from multiple sources such as relational databases, NoSQL environments and flat files for writing appropriate queries for data manipulation to develop dashboards, visualizations and reports.
  • Work with end users to identify requirements for data sources and coordinate with Data Operations and Data Architecture teams to develop and optimize queries on those data sources for reporting needs.
  • Assess, recommend, and help implement enhancements to the business intelligence technical architecture to keep pace with changing business demands, scale and new software releases.
  • Work closely with systems administrators, technical support staff and others to identify, diagnose, track and resolve complex technical issues in both Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server.
  • Manage and track end user requests for BI related software and software upgrades, deploying dashboards, and changing permissions to dashboards on Tableau Server.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for how the BI team interacts with end users.
  • Develop project plans for BI team initiatives, track progress against those plans, develop status reports, and communicate project status with stakeholders.

Requirements details include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or similar discipline.
  • 4 or more years of experience working with the identified systems and tools.
  • Extensive experience developing visualizations with Tableau 10.x and deploying those visualizations to Tableau Server.
  • Experience using Tableau Server including troubleshooting Tableau Server issues and explaining Tableau Server functionality to business users.
  • Experience developing content for and delivering training to others on the use of Tableau or a similar Business Intelligence software.
  • Experience with ETL tools or performing ETL processes.
  • Strong aptitude for enhancing and automating queries from data sources such as relational databases and flat files.
  • Experience analyzing data from large datasets, using geospatial and/or statistical analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to work with business customers, and technical teams.
  • Experience working with end users to troubleshoot problems with both Tableau Desktop and Server.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a government suitability clearance.
